Here’s another one I’ve been sitting on for a while- the Maori Cat. It’s my custom Playge Misfortune Cat for the Reconstructing Misfortune show happening at Munky King, October 8th. When I was ready to get started on this guy I realized I needed a break from my usual totem style. After playing around with a few ideas in my head, I decided on a Maori tattoo-style design because I felt it would flow well with the shape of this figure. And if you look closely, you’ll notice the general outline shape of my Spade-Skull logo on the face- yes, I planned that too.
From my understanding there will be painted prototypes of the upcoming 4-inch Misfortune Cat mini figures at the show, as well as a very cool MK Exclusive. Unfortunately I got onboard with this project a bit late, so my piece didn’t have time to be made into a mini fig- but hey there’s always a hope for series 2… Regardless, from what I’ve seen there’s a lot of heavy hitters participating in this show, so I’m quite honored to be a part of this. Also- this will be the first time I’m participating in a show at Munky King, so I’m excited about that. I’ll definitely be at the opening on the 8th, so if you’re able to attend make sure you come up and say hi. If you’re not able to attend, head on over to my Flickr page to see more pics of the Maori Cat.
